How a DealDash auction works

Every auction starts at $0. Each bid adds a cent and resets a 5-second clock. When the clock runs out, the last bidder wins. That’s the whole game, and here’s how each part works.

The short version

  1. Pick an auction. Brand-new products from popular brands, sourced through big liquidation deals. Every auction starts at $0, with no reserve.
  2. Place bids. Each bid raises the price by one cent and puts the clock back to 5 seconds.
  3. Win, or Buy It Now. When the clock reaches zero, the last bidder wins. If that isn’t you, Buy It Now gets you the item and your bids back.

What a bid is

Bids are how you take part. They cost money, up to 15¢ each, and every bid you place raises the auction price by exactly one cent. That’s how prices stay so low: an item that sells for $7.61 took 761 bids from everyone in the auction combined.

You can earn bids for free or buy more anytime, and new members get $50 of credit toward their first eligible bid purchase. Here’s how the credit works.

Bids stay in your account for 365 days, so there’s no rush to use them. And your first Bid Pack comes with a 90-day money-back guarantee.

Why the clock matters

Every auction has a countdown. Each new bid resets it to 5 seconds, which gives everyone else a fair chance to respond. An auction keeps going for as long as people keep bidding.

It ends the moment the clock reaches zero with no new bid, and the winner is whoever placed that last bid.

Every auction also has a No Jumper limit, usually $5.00. Once the price passes it, no new bidders can join, which keeps the field fair for the people who were there from the start.

Let Booked Bids do the work

You don’t have to sit at your screen tapping the button. Book bids on an auction and DealDash bids for you in the final seconds of the clock. Booked Bids take turns with everyone else’s in a fair round robin, so nobody cuts the line, and any bids you don’t use go straight back to your balance.

Most auctions are won with Booked Bids. They’re the easiest way to stay in the running while you get on with your day.

What the winner pays

Winners pay the final auction price, plus the bids they placed along the way. Shipping is always free. The prices in our recent wins include all of those auction costs, so they’re the real total.

An illustration, not a quote. Shipping is free, and how many bids you place depends on the auction.

If someone else wins

You don’t lose what you put in. With Buy It Now you can buy the item at its regular price, and every bid you placed on that auction comes back to your account to use again. More on Buy It Now.

Won something you don’t need?

Exchange it. Instead of paying for a win, you can swap most wins for bids to use in future auctions. The offer is shown right on the win page.

Ways to earn free bids

  • Time as Highest Bidder. Every second you spend as the highest bidder fills a progress bar. Fill it to collect free bids, and your progress carries over from auction to auction.
  • Daily rewards and challenges. Bid on consecutive days, complete challenges, and collect badges for even more free bids.
  • Bid Pack auctions. Bid Packs are auctioned just like any other item, often for far less than list price.

After you win

Shipping is free on every order, and most wins leave our warehouses within a business day. Every order ships with tracking.

Every auction is monitored by a dedicated team. We’ve been running auctions since 2009 and hold the highest rating the Better Business Bureau gives.
