Keeping Things Cool With Keystone

How’s the weather where you are? I’m here to tell you, things are heating up here in Boston!

If you have ever lived in New England you might be familiar with the fact that central A/C can be scarce around here! Unless you live in a newer building you probably have to make due with fans, window A/Cs, and cold showers. Up until very recently I was one of those people. However, those solutions really weren’t working very well for me. No matter how many BTUs I would buy on my window A/Cs they never seemed good enough to cool more than a bed-room sized room. However, one day I found the answer to my cool air prayers.

 

Enter the  Keystone KSTAP12A 12,000 BTU portable air conditioner. This awesome air conditioner features 3 fan speeds and a fan-only mode for custom comfort. It’s also super easy to install – it comes with a flexible plastic extendable vent tube and a kit to install it into basically any window, be it vertical or horizontal. And forget just cooling a small bedroom, this thing will cool a room up to 600 square feet! This is one powerful dehumidifier, it’s able to remove up to 50 pints of moisture from the air per day in a room up to 3000 square feet. That’s basically an entire basement plus some! Enjoying the Outdoors with Ozark Trail

If you’re like me, you are planning some fun outdoors activities with your family this summer. Some of the best family trips I remember taking when I was a kid have something to do with camping!

Be it a full-on camping vacation or just a night out under the stars in your backyard, camping is great for making lasting memories with your family.  If you are looking for a great tent to get you started, try an Ozark Trail tent. If you’re a camping “newbie” here are a few helpful hints and tricks to get you started in the right direction-

  • Make sure that you stay hydrated, Three to five quarts of water per day will prevent dehydration, which can cause headaches, nausea and muscle cramps.
  • Even if it’s hot during the day it can get chilly at night. Fill your water bottle with boiling hot water, wrap it in a towel, and put it in your sleeping bag a few minutes before you climb in. This makes for toasty warm sleeping quarters.
  • Practice pitching your tent before you leave. Even though  Ozark Trail brand tents are easy to assemble it will give you peace of mind to know that you can successfully pitch your tent before you leave for your trip.
  • If comfort is a must, consider a cot system and a larger tent. They require more room, but cots paired with pads and a sleeping bag can make for a wonderful night’s sleep.
  • If cots aren’t your thing, be sure to at least put a tarp on the ground before you pitch your tent, it will provide a slight cushion as well as protecting you from dampness.

Camping isn’t everyone’s passion, of course. If your idea of fun centers more around home than the wilderness then you could give Ozark Trail‘s Express Canopy a try. It’s a great portable shelter that’s easy to put up and take down. It’s great for an afternoon at the lake, tailgating at the football game, or even just in your backyard at home. My personal favorite use for the Express Canopy is in the backyard as a sun shade for my kids when they play outside in the summer. Beats By Dr. Dre – A flawless and iconic fit for YOU

Do you love music? Me too! Who doesn’t? My music sounds best on Beats By Dr. Dre, and I bet yours will, too.

There are a few different styles of Beats By Dr. Dre, let’s start with my personal favorite:

 

Beats By Dr. Dre Powerbeats Sport Headphones – It’s a mouthful to say, but they are really quite small and fit perfectly in your ears for when you are working out or just trying to drown out the noises at work or at home. My favorite part about the Powerbeats Sport Headphones is they have a small adjustable ear clips that are engineered to stay put during all levels of movement. And I can attest to this fact- normal ear buds just don’t fit my ears correctly and always end up falling out if I move around too much, but my Powerbeats Sport Headphones have never fallen out due to the ear clips.

Beats By Dr. Dre urBeats headphones – Speaking of ear buds, here are Dr. Dre’s version. These ear buds come multiple sized ear tips, and help block distractive noise and have a lightweight design that makes them ideal for listening during exercise, travel, or just about any activity. Not only can you listen to music with these ear buds, they also have a built in microphone that enables hands-free phone calls and lets you easily switch between songs and incoming calls. These headphones also work with online voice and video chats when used with your Apple® iPod® touch or iPhone. Unfortunately my ears are not compatible with these and I had to give mine away! They had great sound though, and my niece loves them.

 

Beats by Dr. Dre Beats Mixr on-ear headphones – These headphones are extremely comfortable, they have soft leatherette ear pads that provides comfort during extended listening sessions. The ear cups pivot up to 270° to enable single-ear monitoring and offer a secure fit. And just as the urBeats headphones above, these headphones also work with online voice and video chats when used with your Apple® iPod® touch or iPhone.

 

Beats By Dr. Dre New Beats Studio Over Ear Headphones – They say that these headphones are powerful enough to block out a jet engine! Yet they are powered by just a pair of AAA batteries. The noise cancellation feature in a pair of Beats Studio headphones amplifies the music as it blocks out noise, giving you consistently powerful and intense sound.  You can take calls, skip songs and adjust volume right from the cord of your Beats Studio headphone – and the Beats logo on the side doubles as a Mute Button, clever!

 

Beats by Dr. Dre Pill 2.0 Portable Stereo Speaker – Beats Pill is awesome! This is actually the only member of the “Beats Family” that we have been talking about that I don’t own (yet!). The Beats Pill offers a bluetooth connection for any devices that are compatible, and for those that don’t have bluetooth you can make a connection for your MP3 player with the use of a 3.5mm stereo audio cable. In addition to listening to music there’s also an internal microphone so you can actually take calls with this speaker! You can get up to and including 7 hours of use on a single charge, and you can even charge up most phones using the Beats Pill. The great thing about this speaker is that it’s portable without compromising on sound.

DealDash introduced us to the brand Magisso a few months ago, and since the first few test products have been such a hit with us DealDashers they have been adding even more selection! Here is an introduction to all of the current Magisso products that DealDash is offering.

Magisso Cooling Ceramics Wine Cooler – The Cooling Ceramics Wine Cooler by Magisso is made of naturally cooling black-colored terracotta. When you need to keep your wine at that perfect temperature when you are having guests over just soak the cooler in cold water and fill it with water and ice. For red wine you’ll only need water. Water evaporates through the walls of the cooler while cooling the bottle. This keeps the wine cold longer than in a normal cooler. The bottom surface of the cooler has been glazed to protect your table from any excess water from the soaking process.
