Check Out DealDash Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games!

DealDashJust because it’s fall doesn’t mean you should stop bidding in the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games category on DealDash!

You know that the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games category has a lot of things for the summer. However, did you know that there are also many nice items for the fall and winter as well? There are too many to list them all, but let’s do a quick overview of bidding in the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games category on DealDash.

Musical Equipment

If you’re looking for musical equipment, you’re going to be pleased when you check out the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games category on DealDash. What is your instrument of choice? Maybe you play piano and would like a keyboard with a stand to practice with.

If stringed instruments are more your preference, no problem! DealDash has both acoustic and electric guitars, as well as ukuleles. Not only do they have these instruments, but they also have kits for beginners that would make an excellent present for that musical person on your shopping list. If you would like to check them out, just click this link right here and take a peek for yourself!

Toys for Everyone

If you thought that DealDash only had outdoor toys in the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games category you would be mistaken. There are indoor toys, as well, for small kids, teens, and even adults.

One of my favorite types of toys for my kids are educational but fun toys such as the Leapfrog tablet that I won for my daughter on DealDash. There are educational toys for babies and toddler as well such as the Vtech Alphabet Activity Cube.

Lastly, a DealDash favorite for both kids and adults is LEGO! Personally, I’ve won at least 10 LEGO sets from DealDash, and I’m sure that I’ll win more as time goes on. If you would like to see all of the Lego sets that are currently offered as well as upcoming sets just click here.

Buy It Now – Your Safety Net

BIN (Which means Buy It Now) is the way to make sure that you’re never losing money and bids on DealDash, no matter what category that you’re bidding in. If you’re not familiar with the term, BINning an item means that you agree to pay the regular retail price for the item and in return, you will receive your bids back from DealDash.

All auctions are available for you to BIN, as long as you placed at least a bid before there was a winner. It doesn’t matter if you only placed a few bids or you’ve accidentally overbid. Simply pay the retail price and you’ll get every bid back as well as free shipping.

Calling All New Bidders: All the Help You Need to Succeed on DealDash

I remember back almost two years ago when I was a “newbie” on DealDash and I’ll admit, I was a little intimidated by the process of bidding. With time, patience and practice, I slowly discovered that DealDash has all the tools available for newbies (and all bidders) to up their game and win on DealDash. Over time, the tools offered to bidders have grown and one area that’s particularly useful to new bidders is located in the Help section.

Where Can New Bidders Find Help?

It’s super easy! Click Help on the main page of the DealDash auction site. It is the second tab in from the left right after the Auctions tab. Once there, you will notice several tabs that will help give you some useful tips on how to get started.

The How It Works Video

This is a great starting place for all newbies. In a short video just under three minutes in length, DealDash gives you a quick and easy tour on how the bidding and winning process works on DealDash. For a short investment of time, you’ll get all the basics on one easy step. Be sure to check it out before you get started.

The How to Bid in an Auction tab

This great little section gives you information on how to get bids back with the Buy It Now option, how to use and save bids with BidBuddy, how to get free bids with Time as the Highest Bidder and information on Winning Limits.  All of these features will help you save time, money and bids on DealDash.

The Tutorial Auction

I honestly think this little invention is one of the greatest things DealDash has to offer its newest bidders. Operating the tutorial is great for two reasons:  1) it gives you a free walk-through of bidding in an auction and 2) it does so without you having to invest any bids. Try it as many times as you like to get the hang of bidding.

Tips & Tricks in One Easy Location

Who doesn’t love a one-stop spot for tips and tricks? This tab gives you the place to go to learn about conserving bids, using BidBuddy, earning free bids, studying your competition, the Buy It Now option, using the Winners tab and even more tips on maximizing your bids on DealDash.

More Help Just Where You Need It

The Help section also provides tabs named: What is a bid pack?, What is “Time as highest bidder”?, Promotions, Orders & Shipping, Payments and House Rules. All of this is helpful information to new bidders to the site.

When All Else Fails…

While DealDash does a fantastic job of providing its bidders with the information it needs to be successful, there may be those times when you just can’t figure something out and need a little additional assistance. For this, there is Customer Support.  Time and time again, the customer support team has been top-rated by bidders and they are always available to help.  If you have a question, feel free to ask.

DealDash puts forth a great effort to listen to its customers and provide them with the tools to educate themselves and succeed in the auctions. Here’s wishing you great bids and great wins!

Get to Know the Competition With the Winners Tab on DealDash

It’s no secret that DealDash provides a plethora of tools for the everyday bidder to succeed. There’s the Tips & Tricks section, user blogs, social media connections and my favorite—the Winners Tab. With a little guidance, I’ll walk you through all this great tab can do for you.

The Winners Tab is located on the bar just above the large banner on the main page of DealDash. It is just below and to the left of the Dashboard tab. Click on it for some great information on your competition.

First, a word about the competition.  There are so many types of bidders. You have experienced bidders who have been on the site practically from the beginning. Then you will have the mid-level bidders who win now and then. And of course you have the newbies who are learning the ropes. No matter what type of bidders you are up against, you still have a chance to win!

The Winners Tab provides the following information:

  • Usernames of the winners of every auction for the past 24 hours. *approximately
  • How many bids each winner used to win each item.
  • The ending price of each auction won.
  • The average cost for each won item (using a 12 cents per bid approximated cost).

DealDash

Here’s how I use the Winners Tab to assess my competition for the day:

When I am in an auction, I like to use the Winners Tab to search for the usernames of those I am competing against in any given auction and here is what I look for:

Multiple wins over 24 hours.

If the person I am bidding against has won a dozen or more auctions over the past 24 hours, I usually take that as a sign that they are on a “winning streak.”

My assessment:  I generally don’t shy away from these types of bidders if it’s an item I really want. I may watch the auction and enter a little later than I normally would and still stick to my bidding budget.

Number of bids used to win

If a bidder uses an excessive number of bids to win a small item, I view this as a bidder who is willing to win at any cost—even if it means overbidding and overspending. Naturally, larger and more expensive items will require more bids to win, sometimes hundreds or thousands, but I tend not to go overboard on smaller items.

Assessment:  You never know if the person bidding is almost out of bids because they just overspent on their last win. It never hurts to try. You never know; luck could be on my side.

Ending price vs. Number of Bids Used

If you see a bidder who has an ending auction price of $10.00 but they only used 50 bids to win, chances are their strategy of jumping in on the auction late paid off for them. Oftentimes these types of bidders will place a few bids in the beginning of the auction, disappear and reappear when there are only a few bidders left in the auction.

Assessment: Although this can be a frustrating tactic, it’s also one that doesn’t always work out for the jumper. Standing your ground is sometimes all that is needed. Based on experience, I’ve also been in a number of auctions where the jumper only places a one or a few bids and that’s it. I stick it out—at least for a little while.

The Winners Tab provides a lot of information, but there are so many factors that go into winning. Experienced bidders don’t always win and new bidders don’t always lose. While there is a certain level of awareness, patience and yes, even luck, involved, there is no exact science. You can use the tools to your advantage but you never know how many bids a person has or doesn’t have, how much time or how many bids they have available to invest or if they are willing to win at all costs. The only way to win is to try and sometimes try again!

Happy bidding on DealDash!

Need towels? DealDash has them! There are hundreds of useful items up for bid every day. These are things that you can save time by getting them from DealDash rather than going to the store.

For example, if you know that you’re going to be having guests in a few weeks and would like to get some new sheets for the guest room, no problem! DealDash has you covered. There’s no need to get in the car, find a parking spot at the mall, walk through the mall, get the sheets, then drive back home. Simply either win or BIN (Buy It Now) them on DealDash. In addition to saving your precious time, free shipping on all DealDash items will save you money as well. No matter what the item, large or small, DealDash will deliver it directly to your door. This is what really sets DealDash apart from those other bidding sites.

Saving money on shipping is great, and free shipping saves you time as well. The free shipping that DealDash offers is lightening fast! Wait for Bid Sales and Good Promos

In addition to not bidding right away due to watching the auctions, another reason you might not want to bid right away is to wait for a great promotion. Last weekend, for example, was a “No Jumpers After $3” promotion. This is an excellent promotion because there is significantly less competition due to there being less bidders able to get into the auction before they are locked out.

Other times, there are “Free Auction Weekends” or “Half Price Wins”, and many other different promotions. If you’re a new bidder or a seasoned bidder on a budget, then you might want to wait for one of these promotions. This is another way that you can live your DealDash life to the fullest.

Just Have Fun!

I often talk about the ways that you can save money and bids on this blog. However, it’s good to occasionally throw caution to the wind and just B-I-D! Sometimes you just need to let loose and have fun on DealDash instead of following all of the strategies, and just have fun. If you have gotten any free bids from DealDash, either from daily bidding or from sending in pictures of you wins, then those are the perfect bids to use as “throwaways” just to have a little fun. You never know, you just might win something! And if not, it’s no big loss, since you received those bids for free, anyway.
