Loving Your DealDash Experience

loving DealDash

DealDash’s goal is to have everyone love their experience on the site. Here are some ideas to get the most out of it.

If you’re a newbie and you haven’t been having a great experience on DealDash, you might not be using the site to the fullest extent. It’s hard to consistently win auctions if you don’t know what you are doing, and that’s where the DealDash Blog comes in to help. We want you to love DealDash and have a great experience every time, even if you don’t win, and the way to do that is to learn everything about DealDash that you can!

Being an Excellent Bidder

How can you learn to be an excellent bidder if you’re new to the site? There is an easy answer to that, and it is to watch the more experienced bidders in the big auctions. Even if you’re not planning on bidding on a larger auction such as a TV or video game system you should still watch some of those auctions as they are happening.

By watching the more experienced bidders in the bigger auctions you will get a much better idea of how to develop your own bidding style. When you’ve decided on a bidding style that you would like to use, then it’s time to start bidding in auctions yourself.

Choosing the Correct Auctions to Bid On

Before you start bidding you’ll need to purchase a bid pack. The bid packs range from around 50 to 2,000! After buying the bid pack you can figure out exactly which auction that you would like to enter. You can start with an auction that is currently in progress, as long as the final auction price hasn’t reached the $5 “No Jumper Limit.”

You can start with an auction that is currently in progress, as long as the final auction price hasn’t reached the $5 “No Jumper Limit.” You may also choose to enter an auction that is happening in the near future by loading up your BidBuddy with the appropriate number of bids to reach the BIN (Buy It Now) price.

Choosing an auction to bid in is one of the most fun parts about DealDash! Personally, I would suggest starting off with a gift card auction. That way if you have reached the BIN (Buy It Now) price you can simply buy the gift card for the regular face-value, receive all of your bids back, and also get free shipping. It’s a no-risk auction when you bid on a gift card that you would have purchased anyway such as a gas gift card.

I hope this article has encouraged you to learn more about DealDash. You should definitely check out DealDash’s “Tips & Tricks” section on the site. Best Times to Bid

If you want less competition and have a better chance to win auctions on DealDash.com, it is important to choose the best times to bid.

Here are four things to consider when choosing the best times to bid:

1. Avoid weekends. Why would I choose to avoid playing on weekends? Customers who have jobs Monday through Friday are more likely to do more online shopping during their time off on weekends. Watch for a while and keep track of the numbers to see if there are more bidders on weekends than there are during the week days.

2. Consider Time Zones. If you want to bid in auctions while the majority of other shoppers are sleeping, remember to take time zones into consideration. Retirees might decide to shop at night and sleep in the morning, or they might shop early in the morning, while other people are busy getting ready for work. Remember, however, that if you are on Pacific Standard Time, while other shoppers are on Eastern Standard Time, they are three hours ahead of you. While it is still night time for you, it is already morning for them.

3. Shop when other customers are less likely to be online. For example, during the Super Bowl, many other shoppers might be busy watching the game instead.

4. Avoid shopping during the most popular specials. For example, we all love the “free to the winner” specials, but that might not be the best time to shop if we want less competition. Why? Everybody and their grandparents love the “free to the winner” specials, so a lot more customers tend to get online. Winning an auction for free is great, but not necessarily if it takes four or five times more bids to win. Remember bids cost money, too, so you might have less competition and win a better deal if you shop during a special that is less popular.

Using Mind Games to Win on DealDash

 DealDash Mind Games

Using mind games on DealDash might not be the nicest way to play, but it is smart.

Do you ever use mind games on DealDash to beat your competition? What sorts of mind games do you play? Even though it might not be the nicest way to play on DealDash it is allowed as long as you are following all of the House Rules. If you would like to see a list of the House Rules just click on this link right here. Read the rest of this article to see how other people might be playing mind games with you.

Bidder Avatars

There are some rules about what sorts of pictures that you may upload on DealDash, the official rule on avatars is the following…

Please don’t try to intimidate others or post misleading content, bid count, links, emails, etc. Thank you!”

It says very clearly that you are not allowed to post “intimidating” pictures, however, it doesn’t say that you aren’t allowed to have an avatar of your favorite items to bid on.

For example, if Legos are your favorite item to bid on you might want to have a picture of a Lego as your avatar. Or perhaps you are a musician, you might want to have a picture of a music note as an avatar. Trust me, if I entered into an auction for Legos or a guitar with either of the above avatars I would probably back out pretty quickly. If someone likes something enough to make it their avatar, well, they probably want it more than I do.

Stompers Play With Your Mind

No one likes Stompers. Stompers are someone who bids immediately after you cheating you out of your clock time. This can be done accidentally, of course, but if it happens over and over again you know that they are doing it on purpose.

When someone stomps on your bid it probably frustrates you. If you’re frustrated enough and you haven’t put in very many bids you just may back out of the auction. Stompers might be annoying and make you feel unhappy, but it’s 100% allowed. That’s one of the great things about DealDash – you can play however you like as long as you follow the House Rules.

I hope this helped you think about playing DealDash using some strategic mind games! If you’re interested in reading more tips, tactics, and tricks check out the “Tactics & Tips” section on DealDash.

Why Can’t I Win?

Why can’t I win? Are you asking yourself this question?

If you are not able to win a DealDash.com auction, you might be doing something wrong. Here are four possible reasons why you might not be able to win:

1. You are placing single bids from the home page instead of putting your bids into the automated bidder, BidBuddy. Newbies might accidentally win an auction from the home page, but anyone who wants to continue winning must learn how to use the automated bidder. Just double-click on the auction you want to win. A new window will open and that’s where you will find your best friend, BidBuddy.

2. You are only bidding on high-dollar items that are a lot more difficult to win. Instead of bidding on a $50 or $100 gift card, it is usually easier to win a $10 or $25 gift card. However, gift cards are popular items that are not easy to win. Instead, look for an auction that has fewer bidders and consistently closes at a low cost. For example, the 6-piece bed sheet set that often goes up for auction on DealDash, valued at $100 consistently closes at a fairly low cost. I recently saw a king-size set of those linens close for only 8 cents and the highest closing price for the week was $15.60. I did the math and the average closing cost for the auction over the last seven days was only $6.01.

3. You do not yet know what players to avoid. When Newbies bid in the same auctions with experienced power bidders it’s like a Little League baseball team playing with a Big League baseball team and expecting to win. It just will not happen. It is very important to know who the experienced power bidders are so you can avoid getting into the same auctions. I am familiar with the screen names of filthy-rich bidders, who always have an endless supply of bids. Therefore, if they enter my auctions, I drop out and wait until that same item goes up for auction again.

4. You bid on too many auctions at the same time. It is usually easier to win if you focus on one auction at a time. If you play in too many auctions at the same time, chances are you will run out of bids before you win any of them.

DealDash App

Another favorite of mine is the DealDash app. If you haven’t taken advantage of this cool free app, then you’re missing out.  You can check on the auctions that you have won (or BINned), and of course you can set BidBuddies, bookmark auctions, and participate in live auctions. It’s always ready for you on your phone’s home screen. Here is how to get the free DealDash app:

Here is the Android version on Google Play – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dealdash&hl=en

The BidBuddy

I couldn’t make a favorites list without including the BidBuddy! The BidBuddy is an automated bidder that DealDash offers to every bidder for free. The BidBuddy is one of those great things about DealDash that you aren’t going to be able to get anywhere else. Simply choose the amount of bids that you would like to spend on an auction and click “Book a BidBuddy” and you’re all set!
