I will admit that I have been winning a few items a month to stash away for Christmas gifts for the past few months. Even though I pretty much have what I need for gift-giving, it’s almost impossible not to see something new on DealDash that catches my eye that I’d love to give as a gift. Utilize the Buy It Now Option – It’s sometimes hard to stick to the No. 1 rule on DealDash and that is to only bid on items you truly want to win. One of the reasons behind this rule is that if it’s an item you truly want and you happen to lose the auction, you can always use the Buy It Now option, pay retail price for the item and get all the bids you placed into the auction back into your bid bank. It’s a complete win-win for bidders.

 There’s something to be said for trying different strategies on DealDash. I have found that nine times out of ten, I bid the same way and the same days and times when bidding on DealDash. Lately, though, I’ve been trying to shake things up a bit. One of the things I have tried is to bid out of my normal times. Here are some suggestions I’ve come up with for odd times you can try bidding to increase your chances of winning.

• Early Morning Hours – Keep in mind that DealDash is for customers in the United States only. Having said that, you still have to be aware that there are three separate time zones to deal with. If you’re on Eastern Standard Time and it’s midnight, this might be “early morning” for you, yet it’s only 9 p.m. on Pacific Standard Time.

• Travel Hours – I have found some success in those hours people are likely in their cars traveling from work to home either to or from their jobs. Thankfully, this may also equate to people not being busy on their phones while driving. When they’re concentrating on driving, you can concentrate on winning.

• Sunday Afternoon – Even though this, like most times, is hit and miss, I have also found some success on Sunday afternoons. Maybe it’s because folks are getting their family suppers ready or maybe they are just taking a break, but it’s certainly worth it to give this time a shot.

• In the Middle of the Night – I can’t tell you how many times I have simply decided to “take a chance” when I woke up in the middle of the night and randomly placed a few bids on an item—and won! As they say with the lottery, you gotta be in it to win it!

I like to consider different times to bid by asking myself, “How busy am I right now and if I’m free to bid, what are the chances the majority of other bidders are available to bid?” This gives me a personal gauge as to whether it’s an “odd time to bid.”

Where is the Bidder Bar?

The Bidder Bar is located at the bottom of your DealDash page. Take a look at my Bidder Bar and see that I currently have 300 bids in my Bid Bank and am at Level 46. The Bidder Bar shows how much time I have left before I reach the next level (4 hours, 11, minutes, 16 seconds).

How Can I Figure Out How Soon I Will Reach the Next Level?

You can find out approximately how long it will take you to reach the next level by doing a little math. First, convert the time remaining on the bidder bar and convert it to minutes. Then convert the minutes into seconds. Once you have the number of seconds, divide that number by the number of second you could earn for placing just one bid (up to 50 today!.

4 hours, 11 minutes = 251 minutes x 60 seconds per minute = 15,060 seconds

15,060 seconds / 50 potential seconds per bid = 301.2 bids

As you can see, barring any mean and nasty bid stompers who interrupt the flow of the max of 50 seconds earned per bid today, I can potentially be on my way to my next level of free bids in 302 bids!
