Let DealDash Blog Help Plan Your Christmas Party

DealDash

Christmas is coming next week. Have you finished planning your Christmas party yet? Read on for some tips from DealDash.

Christmas time is rapidly approaching and you may just find yourself in charge of a family Christmas party. Never fear though, as putting together a party like this is really a lot simpler then one would think. Here are a few tips to get you set on the right path, from DealDash.

Hurry, Invite Your Guests

Make sure that you let everyone know about the party as soon as possible. If you are short on time consider social media or email to tell your family about the party. This way you are giving people enough time to make arrangements to get to the party. You also want to make sure that you have a defined time for the party so family members know when the party starts and ends.  Gone are the days of using paper invitations. You can call, email, text, or even send an Evite.

Planning the Meal

When planning for food, keep it as simple as possible. You can easily plan for finger foods to keep everyone happy during the party. If you are planning a big meal consider asking people to bring a dish to share.

Always make sure you take into account family member that might have food allergies when planning your Christmas party meal. You also might want to make sure that there is something to eat for any vegetarians in the family, or if anyone eats gluten-free. If there are any allergies or picky eaters in the family you don’t have to plan your menu specifically around them, but be sure that there are at least a few things that they will be able to eat.

Activities for Everyone

Make sure you have activities planned that appropriate for all ages. You need to be sure that every family member, no matter what their age, can participate in the activity if they want to do so. You can plan a couple of fun party games like wrapping a bunch of small gift in plastic wrap and watch everyone try to unwrap it. There are countless other party game ideas on the internet.

Other activities you might want to consider are watching a classic Christmas movie, caroling around the Christmas tree, or baking cookies together. Be sure to have a few board games out so that people can keep themselves entertained while you are busy with the other preparations.

Decorations Everywhere

Decorations really don’t have to be anything too complicated. In fact, just how you would normally decorate your home for Christmas is just fine for your family Christmas party. That will save you a good deal of time a stress in planning the party. Even if you don’t have a Christmas tree, no problem! A string of lights here or there, a wreath, or a couple of Christmas stockings will be just fine.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve 2017 from DealDash

DealDash

Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone! Today’s blog is to remind everyone to be thankful. Read on for more from DealDash.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and we all have so many things to be thankful for – family, friends, pets, nature, and so many more things. However, sometimes it’s easy to take some of these things for granted. Let’s try to think about a few of the many things that we should be thankful for this holiday season.

Family

Everyone has a family – even if they are the kind of family that you have created for yourself and aren’t actually blood-related. A family is a wonderful thing, they love you and accept you for who you are. They are the people that you love and think about and miss when you aren’t around them.

If you’re thinking about getting some of your family some gifts this year, then you’ll want to see what DealDash has to offer. Of course, you could venture out into the cold and go shopping on Black Friday, however, opening up your computer or phone and bidding on DealDash to win your family some presents is ever so much more comfortable. Not only that, why would you want to abandon Thanksgiving dinner to go camp out in front of a store?

Friends

Friends are a lot like family, they say that friends are the family that you choose for yourself. Some people who aren’t able to spend Thanksgiving with their families choose to spend it with their friends instead. This practice has garnered the fun name of “Friendsgiving” in some circles.

Getting your friend a present or two this season is a great idea to show them how much you have been thinking about them. Don’t get them another “Doorbuster” from the local big box store, get them something from DealDash instead!

Pets

Some people consider pets their family. No matter if you think they are family or just a cute furry animal that you share a home with, they are definitely something to be thankful for. Your pet is there for you when no one else is, they are always happy to see you, no matter how long you’ve been gone. They love to cuddle and snuggle, and are always up for some playtime.

Say “Thank you” to your pet by getting them a present from DealDash. DealDash has many pet auctions with items for dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and fish. DealDash has a great selection for all of your furry, finned, and feathered friends.

Nature

Autumn is one of the most beautiful times of the year. The air is crisp and cool, the leaves are turning amazing colors, and it’s the perfect time to take a walk or a hike on a nice Saturday afternoon. Even if your family, friends, and pets are getting on your bad side, nature will always be there, beautiful and just waiting to be enjoyed.

Since you are spending so much time on DealDash, why not let your friends and family in on the secret of the best bidding site around?

Why Should Your Friends Join DealDash?

There are quite a few valid reasons why your friends and family might want to join DealDash. Obviously, the best reason for your friends and family to try DealDash is the fact that you enjoy it so much! However, there are so many other reasons.

Learn About New Trends

DealDash is a hotbed of activity, and if they want to know what is trendy and popular, then you’ll want to send them to DealDash. There are many different categories on DealDash, and new and popular items are popping up every day. Some examples include:

  • New hair products – digital flatirons
  • Hot Fashion – new moto jackets just arrived!
  • Jewelry – white gold is white hot on DealDash

They Can Save Money

Most families buy their household supplies, garden items, kid’s toys, and beauty items at the mall or a big box store. Wouldn’t you love to be able to tell them that they can stay home and shop, and even save money while doing it? It’s so helpful to be able to save money on everyday purchases that they were going to make anyway. Save your family and friends some money when you introduce them to DealDash.

Tell them the Great News About BidBuddy

You can also let them know that they won’t be alone when they’re bidding in the auctions. No, you won’t be participating with them – that’s against DealDash rules! However, they will have a buddy with them – the BidBuddy, of course! You can tell your friends that the BidBuddy is available to every bidder, free of charge, on every auction that they participate in. They won’t need to download anything extra or purchase anything special to use the BidBuddy.

Simply tell them how easy the BidBuddy is to use. After opening up an auction that interests them, in the middle of the screen, they will see a space and a button that says “Book a Bid Buddy”. Tell them to click on the space that says “add bids here” and put in the number of bids that they are willing to spend on this particular DealDash auction. Then hit enter.

Here’s How You Can Share with Friends

You might be wondering how you can go about sharing DealDash with a friend. There are lots of ways, even if they don’t live near you. All you need is a computer to let them in on the wonderful world of DealDash. Here are some of the ways:

Are You Keeping DealDash All for Yourself?

DealDash greedy

Have you been keeping DealDash all to yourself? Why not share the fun of DealDash with a friend?

Don’t be a Greedy Gus! Share the fun and excitement of DealDash with a friend or family member. Of course, you can’t bid in the same auctions, but you can definitely watch and cheer each other on! There are lots of reasons why you should want to share DealDash with a friend. Here are my top 3 reasons.

#1 Save Your Friend Money

I’m sure that you’re a good friend. Good friends want other friends to be able to save money. Even if your friend doesn’t have money problems, don’t you think that they would like to save money on everyday purchases so they can save up the extra for something special like a vacation or a nice extra for the family? Think about it, haven’t you gotten some great deals on DealDash that you would like to share with a friend? Go ahead. Save your friend some money and let them in on the DealDash secret.

#2 Your Friend Can Help You Find Auctions

No matter how much you enjoy using DealDash, I’m sure that there are a few days here and there that you aren’t able to get on and bid. Who knows how many awesome auctions that you are missing when you skip a day of DealDash. Well, that can come to an end if you invite your friend to join DealDash! Your friend can watch for auctions that might interest you and shoot you a quick text when they see one!

Of course, you can always set up an alert so that DealDash emails you when a specific product becomes available. Simply search for an item and hit the “Alert Me” button and DealDash will send you an email when the auction is starting. However, this only works if you know exactly what you want. DealDash doesn’t (yet!) have the algorithm in place to know exactly what you want before you ask for it. You never know what they might come up with in the future, though.

#3 It’s Fun to Share

Come on, everything is more fun with a friend! Even things that aren’t usually so fun like going to the gym are made more fun with a friend. So if you take an activity that’s already fun such as DealDash, and add a friend, it makes it super fun!

One of the best parts about DealDash is telling your friends and family about your best wins. However, if your friends don’t use DealDash, they won’t understand what an amazing win is really all about. When your friend joins DealDash and gets caught up in the excitement of a big win, then you will truly have a friend who understands your love of DealDash. And isn’t understanding what makes a friendship strong?

Ahhh Spring! Baby Kittens, Baby Puppies, and Baby DealDashers!

Spring is right around the corner, flowers will be in bloom, baby animals everywhere will be born, and DealDash will be getting more Newbies.

DealDash loves their Newbies! As an older and more seasoned DealDasher, I personally like all of the Newbies, as long as they follow the rules – the official rules as well as the rules of courtesy in the Land of DealDash. If you’re one of DealDash’s Newbies, please read on so you can educate yourself on the official rules as well as the “unofficial” rules that most of us older DealDashers try to follow to keep everything fun and friendly.

There is a full and complete list of the official rules on DealDash, if you would like to read them on the official site, then please follow this link here. However, here are the most common rules that I feel that Newbies should familiarize themselves with so they don’t accidentally get into trouble with DealDash and lose their bidding privileges:

  • Each person can only have 1 account, no exceptions.
  • You can win up to 9 auctions per week. The system will not allow you to bid after you have reached your limit. All remaining BidBuddies will be automatically cancelled and your bids will be returned to your account.

As I said, there are a few other official rules, but I feel that these two rules that I have listed above are the most common things that new bidders might have questions about.

Now, let’s talk about “unofficial rules.” The rules that I am going to list next are NOT official DealDash rules, you will NOT lose your bidding privileges if you don’t follow them – they are just a few suggestions that you might want to follow so you don’t upset a fellow DealDasher without realizing it! However, if you want to ignore these suggestions as part of your bidding strategy, that’s fine as well. Just remember – some older and more seasoned DealDashers with tons of wins under their belts will sometimes “throw a win” to a Newbie if they have only invested a few bids. However, if you do something to annoy them then I have seen people purposefully overbid to prove a point.

  • Do not “stomp”. Stomping is when you bid immediately after someone else without letting the clock timer run down to 2 or 3 seconds. Every second that a bidder is listed as the “highest bidder” they get “clock time” which adds up and can eventually be traded for free bids from DealDash. When you stomp on another bidder’s bid and cheat them out of their clock time people tend to get aggravated.
  • Do not “jump.” Being a Jumper means that you don’t put your first bid in until the auction is moments away from being closed to new bidders. For example, the limit is almost always $5, and then after that the auction is closed to anyone who hasn’t yet put in at least one bid. If you wait until $4.97, $4.98, $4.99, etc before you put in your first bid people might consider you a Jumper and be annoyed. However, I think most bidders also realize sometimes you didn’t decide to bid on the auction before the limit was almost up, or you didn’t see the auction until it was almost too late – but if you jump in at $4.99 every single time you bid in an auction then you might get a reputation as a Jumper, and that’s not really a title that most people want!
  • Don’t write rude things in your bio. Your bio is a sentence that you can write about yourself that will pop up with your avatar every time that you bid. Most people write fairly innocuous things like “I love to bid!” or “Bidding for my Grandkids!” but I have seen some people write things that border on being rude, such as “Don’t bother bidding, I’m going to crush your bids.” or “I’m going to bid until I win, I don’t care how much it costs, so give up now.” Those examples that I gave are fictional, but I have seen similar things, and I always wonder why people purposely try to make enemies, this is supposed to be a fun website – entertainment shopping!

Those are the important things to think about when you are just starting to bid on DealDash, but also helpful to remember, if you have over-bid and reached the BIN price, use the “Buy it Now” option and pay retail price for the item. DealDash will then refund all of the bids you used on that item, and you can try again another day. This is really a great win-win situation for everyone.

So newbie DealDashers, those are just a few helpful rules and suggestions for your first few times playing on DealDash. Remember to pay attention to the rules, check out the auctions and see what you would really like to bid on, and try some easier auctions to start! See you on DealDash everyone! Good luck and happy bidding.
