Thinking Like a Seasoned DealDash Bidder

DealDashIf you want to win more DealDash auctions you should start thinking like a seasoned bidder

Even if you’re a newbie that just joined DealDash today, you should start thinking like a seasoned bidder. There are some mistakes that most newbies make on DealDash that you can avoid by trying out this strategy. Read on for more information about thinking like a seasoned bidder on DealDash.

Figure Out How Dealdash Works

DealDash, while fairly self-explanatory to get started on, has many different features that you will want to learn how to use before you start bidding in earnest. For starters, DealDash runs on a “pay to bid” model. So if you want to participate in a DealDash auction, you will need to buy bids first. These bids come in packs of different amounts. DealDash is currently selling packs of 60, 300, 600, 1200, and 2400.

Don’t Bid on Just Anything

Now that you have a better understanding of how DealDash works and You’ve bought some bids, it’s time to browse. Seasoned bidders don’t bid on just anything that’s on the main auction screen. They take their time, do their research, and look through all of the upcoming auctions in their favorite categories.

Buy Bids on Sale

Another thing that seasoned bidders on DealDash know is not to buy bids when they are above .15! DealDash bids can range anywhere in price from .12 each all the way up to .60 each. However, they are frequently on sale for .13, .14, and .15. Why in the world would you buy a 2400 pack of bids at .18 each when you can get them for .13 a piece? That is literally a savings of $120!!! Wouldn’t you rather wait a few days and get such a great deal? That’s how a seasoned bidder thinks, and so should you!

BidBuddy is the Way to Bid

Seasoned bidders on DealDash know that the best way to bid is by using the BidBuddy. When I first started on DealDash I didn’t understand how the BidBuddy worked and I lost quite a few auctions by clicking too slowly while I was bidding.

The BidBuddy is available on every auction, and it doesn’t cost anything to use.  If you’d like to use the BidBuddy just open up a DealDash auction that you’re interested in winning. On the screen, you will see a space and a button that says “Book a Bid Buddy”. Click on the space that says “add bids here” and put in the number of bids that you are willing to spend on this particular DealDash auction. Then hit enter to get him started.

Seasoned bidders use the BidBuddy because they know that their internet could fail at any moment, the power could go out, the computer could start updating itself without warning, or any other number of reasons.

Reasons to BIN When You Don’t WIN

DealDash

If you’re not Buying It Now (BIN) when you don’t win, you’re missing out.

Have you been using the BIN feature on DealDash? You should, because Buying It Now is almost as good as winning the auction. I will explain more down below. However, know that doing a BIN on an auction that you don’t win will take the “sting” out of losing. To find out more about Buying It Now, read on down below.

BIN? What’s That Mean?

BIN is one of the best ideas that DealDash has ever come up with. There is no restriction on who can Buy It Now, other than the fact that you have to have placed at least one bid on that auction. Thus, it’s offered to every bidder in every auction, not just to the first few as I have seen on some other bidding sites. With BIN, you can purchase the item at the retail price that is listed on each and every auction page. Then, DealDash will return all of the bids that you spent on the auction to your bid bank.

Should I Always BIN?

If you’re wondering if you should BIN an auction or not, then you probably should! However, you don’t want to just guess if it makes good financial sense. You just need to do a little math to see how many bids that need to be placed before you reach the retail price.

This is easy to calculate, especially if DealDash is running a Free Auction Weekend promotion. Simply take the retail price of the item and divide it by the amount that you spent on each bid. The answer that you get is the amount of bids that you would need to spend to break even on the auction. For example, if you are bidding on a $100 item and you paid .15 per bid, your break even point would be 667 bids.

If it is not a day when DealDash is running a Free Auction promotion, then you need to estimate how much the auction will end at, and do your calculations from that. For example, if you do a little research and see that the sale $100 item typically ends for a final auction price of 10, then you need to take off that $10 before you do your calculations, so your break even price in this situation would be 600 bids.

If you end up spending the number of bids that you have previously calculated and you still haven’t won the auction, that’s when you know it’s time to BIN the auction. Don’t worry, though, because you will get every single bid that you spent returned to your account when you BIN the item. You will also get free shipping, Free shipping is something that DealDash offers on every item.

Have You Been Checking Out the DealDash Competition?

DealDashObserving the other DealDash bidders is the smart thing to do. Here is more information about how to get started.

Did you recently join DealDash? If so, you might want to start bidding and winning auctions right away. And you can, but should you? Maybe not. ANd here’s why: You should be taking the time to do research on your fellow bidders. Your fellow bidders are people from all walks of life who might think and act differently than you would in a situation. When you think about it that way, doesn’t it make sense to do a little reconnaissance on them? Read on for more information of what you should be looking for, from DealDash.

Watch on Free Auction Weekends

DealDash has “Free Auction Weekends” fairly often. When this happens, there is no final auction fee for the win. You just pay for your bids and a .01 transaction fee. The Free Auction Weekend promotion on DealDash is a great time to get to know your fellow bidders.

You can watch and learn quite a lot on these promotional days. You can learn who is truly willing to BIN (Buy It Now) an item, who bids for a moment and disappears, and who comes and goes. These are all good things to keep in your memory bank and look back on when you happen to be bidding against them in the future.

Get to Know Win and BIN

Earlier, I mentioned BINning an auction. The BIN is an important thing to think about and keep in mind when you are bidding in an auction. Doing a BIN (Buy It Now) on the auction that you enter if you don’t win makes good sense. When you BIN the item for the retail price you get ALL of the bids back that you placed, as well as getting free shipping. If you have done your research on your fellow bidders you will know who is going to go all the way to a BIN, and who probably won’t stay until the end.

Keep Track of Winners on Your Chosen Item

If you have a particular item that you are very excited about winning on DealDash, you’ll want to do not only research on the item but on the previous winners as well. You can only win one of a particular item per week, so if you are very interested in an item you can look and see who has already won it this week so you know that they won’t be able to bid on it again until seven days have passed.

Are You Still Playing Mind Games on DealDash?

DealDash

Are you playing mind games on DealDash? If not, here’s why you should be…

If you’re not using mind games on DealDash then you might be missing out on some wins. Did you know that DealDash doesn’t mind if you use mind games to stump your competitors? As long as you are being respectful with your username, bidding bio, and picture DealDash doesn’t care how you bid. However, if you’re not sure if you’re following all of the House Rules then you should review them. If you would like to see a list of the House Rules just click on this link right here. Read the rest of this article to see how playing mind games can be beneficial to you on DealDash.

Are You Stomping the Competition?

Stomping on your fellow bidder’s bids will not win you any friends. However, it might win you some auctions on DealDash. No one likes stompers, it’s a fact. If you’re new, you might have been playing mind games by stomping without even realizing that you were doing it.

In case you weren’t aware, a stomper is someone who bids immediately after you place your bid. This cheats you out of your clock time that DealDash generously gives to the highest bidder in every auction. If you’re brand new, which people can see from your start date, they will be more likely to be forgiving that you are stomping them. However, they might stomp you back a few times to show you that it’s a rude bidding behavior.

If you’re looking to play mind games, this is a good way to start. Getting your bids stomped on is a very frustrating feeling. If a person becomes frustrated enough they might just back out of the auction and try a different one.

Coming and Going in an Auction

Do you know what else is frustrating? When you have been in an auction for the long haul, determined to either win or BIN (Buy It Now) the auction, and another bidder repeatedly enters and leaves the auction. This can be an excellent mind game to play, especially if you vary the times that you enter and leave.

For instance, you might enter the auction and just place 5 bids and leave. Then enter again a bit later and place 75 bids and leave, ectera. If the people in the auction don’t know if you’re going to place just a few bids or a larger number of bids it can make things very frustrating for them. If you like to play mind games on DealDash, give this one a try!

Winning in Volume on DealDash

DealDash

In Monday’s blog article we talked about big wins on DealDash. Here is an article for you if you’re interested in winning in volume.

Getting lots of wins isn’t too difficult, especially if you aren’t too concerned about what you are winning. The key to winning in volume, of course, is to bid in volume. However, that isn’t the only factor. Read on for more information.

Bid on the Unpopular Items

Not every item on DealDash is a big hit with the buyers. There are items that typically sell for top dollar such as laptops and video game systems, but there are many other items that have less competition.

One of these items is clothing. The clothing that DealDash offers is high-quality, but since you can only bid on one size instead of choosing your size there is less competition.

Another one of these items is jewelry. Not everyone wears jewelry, and even if you wear jewelry you might only wear items that are sentimental to you or of a certain type.

Why Would You Bid on Unpopular Items?

If you want to win in volume, then bidding on less popular items is the way to go. There are a few reasons why you might want unpopular items in volume. Personally, I like to get all of my Christmas shopping done before Black Friday. One of the ways to do that is by winning lots of small items on DealDash.

I never have a set gift in mind for many people, so I win the item first, and then figure out who it would suit later on. I married into a big family, so I never have any trouble finding an uncle or cousin who would enjoy my items.

Another reason that a bidder might like to win lots of less popular items is to donate. Many people like to give donations and make gift bags for the less fortunate around holiday time. The item might not be to your own personal taste, but if someone who has no jewelry but loves it gets a donation of a necklace, you better believe they will love it!

Buy Bids

If you’re trying to win a large volume of items, you’re going to need a lot of bids. Fortunately, DealDash offers bid sales every day of the week where you can purchase bids from .13-.18 cents per bid. Typically on holidays the prices will be even lower. You just have to be check in and see what the price is every day, then buy bids or skip buying and wait for another day when the price is lower. Building up your bid bank is a great way to assure that you will have them when you see some less popular items coming up for auction.
