DealDash Heroes: Astronauts

DealDashWelcome to the newest DealDash series, DealDash Heroes! Today we are going to be talking a little bit about astronauts.

Many little boys and girls want to be astronauts when they grow up. These brave men and women are the curious and selfless forces that help us explore space and understand our world and universe around us. Astronauts are a very special type of people, and there have been very few of them in history. Here is a little bit more information about astronauts, and their importance in our lives.

Astronauts and Space History

The word “astronaut” comes from the Greek words meaning “space sailor,” and refers to all who have been launched as crew members aboard NASA spacecraft. So, technically, astronauts are only launched from the USA – other countries have other names for their “space sailors”, such as in Russia they are called “cosmonauts”, and in China, they are called “Space Navigating Personnel.”
The first human in space was a cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, who was from the Soviet Union. He launched on April 12, 1961, and orbited the Earth for 108 minutes. The first American (and second person) in space was Alan Shepard. He launched on May 5, 1961, on a 15-minute sub-orbital flight. As an American, you are probably familiar with the first astronaut on the moon – Neil Armstrong, in July of 1969.

What Types of Physical Risks are There?

There are many different types of physical risks to our heroes the astronauts. Some of the health risks that the astronauts face are decompression sickness (like deep-sea divers), barotrauma, immunodeficiencies, loss of bone and muscle, loss of eyesight, orthostatic intolerance, sleep disturbances, and radiation injury. About 2/3 of astronauts end up having vision problems due to the pressure in space. However, these brave astronauts know the risks and still choose to accept missions into space to learn more about our universe.

Things That Astronauts Do

When you think about astronauts you might imagine them floating blissfully through space like they are on an airplane ride. However, that’s not the case. When the astronauts are on the space ship or the International Space Station, they are hard at work. Some things that astronauts do while they are on the job are conduct experiments, launch satellites, and maintain spacecraft and equipment. So you see, there are many things that astronauts do that you might not have even thought about!

Bid on Toys and Gift Cards on DealDash

DealDash

Do you have kids who love toys? DealDash has lots of toys that your kids would love.

Do you need to get a gift for your children, maybe for a birthday or as a “back to school” present? Shopping for kids can be a very fun experience, and seeing their happy little faces when they open up their present is a real joy. If you need a toy for your child, then win toys on DealDash!

DealDash Has Legos for Boys and Girls

What’s the perfect item for both girls and boys? What’s a gift that children in a family can easily share? Legos! There are Legos of every type and many different sets. There are even Lego sets for younger children. If the child you’re shopping for is too young for regular Legos try the Duplo blocks. DealDash has both regular Legos and Duplo blocks up for auction. All three of my children, aged 19 months, 5 years, and 9 years all play with Legos at my house. It’s one of the only activities that all three of them can play together. Legos? $48. Thirty minutes of silence because all of the children are playing nicely together? Priceless!

Gift Cards for Great Toys

If you are interested in getting a child a present but you aren’t sure exactly what they would like, then a gift card would make an excellent present. As kids get older I find it really hard to keep up with which video games that they have – and I wouldn’t want to commit the “grave insult” of getting them a game that they already have. So I find that a gift card works especially well for older kids, say age 10 and up. DealDash has many gift cards to stores that have toys. Some examples are Toys R Us, Target, and Wal-Mart. These stores have indoor toys, outdoor toys, and even video games.

Didn’t WIN? Let’s BIN!

Not everyone can win every auction, of course. Otherwise, DealDash would go out of business, and no one wants that! However, if you don’t win, DealDash always offers the option to BIN the item. Buying It Now (BIN) is a smart thing to do. After you’re done bidding in an auction, and realize that you won’t be the winner, then just hit the BIN button. After you have submitted your payment to DealDash, they will refund all of the bids that you spent on the auction. This is a great thing to plan on doing if you’re bidding on gift cards because the BIN price is simply the value of the card. No fees and no shipping costs!

Good Things Come in Small DealDash Packages

DealDash

Good things come in small packages, and DealDash has lots of great things. Read on for more information.

Have you ever heard the phrase “good things come in small packages”? This is especially true on DealDash because when you think about “small things” on DealDash, it usually means jewelry! Read on for more information about the amazing products available on DealDash.

What’s Small and Sparkly?

Do you know what is bright and sparkly like jewelry? DealDash fireworks – you’ll know that you’re having a good day when you win an auction on DealDash! There are other amazing small things on DealDash that aren’t sparkly as well, such as a gift card to your favorite store!

DealDash has so many different types of gift cards up for auction, such as local big box stores such as Target, Wal-Mart, and Lowe’s. There are also a huge array of restaurants available such as Panera Bread, Olive Garden, Seasons 52, and one of my favorites – the Outback!

Are You a Big Fan of Small Packages?

If you’re interested in a small package such as jewelry, then you might be pleased when it comes to bidding on these items. There are typically fewer bidders in the running for jewelry auctions, because they are offered so frequently. Sometimes you can find more than 10 jewelry auctions in a single day on DealDash. This means that you will be bidding against a fewer people. As we all know, the fewer bidders there are in a DealDash auction the easier the win. Of course, you can always get the item you want if you Buy It Now (BIN).

BIN if You Really Want it

DealDash offers a BIN “Buy It Now” option on every single auction that they run, every single day. If you bid in an auction and don’t win, then always have the option to BIN (Buy It Now) and get the item. You will always get free shipping, and receive all of your bids back that you placed into your bid bank. DealDash is happy to offer the BIN option on all of the auctions because they love their customers.

Jewelry and Gift Cards Make Nice Gifts

DealDash jewelry and gift cards are the perfect presents to give during the holidays, and throughout the year for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, and graduation.

There are so many jewelry and gift card auctions on DealDash that it would be very easy to get a few wins every week. You can even bid and win or BIN on gift cards that you won’t use yourself because they make great gifts. Personally, I am not a big fan of the Cracker Barrel, but I am very happy to win a Cracker Barrel gift card to give to my in-laws, who love Cracker Barrel. If you think of each person that you typically give a gift to during the year, you can match them up with their perfect gift card.

Hello New DealDash Bidders!

DealDash

If you’re a new bidder on DealDash there are a few things you need to know. Read on for some tips on DealDash basics.

Greetings, new bidder on DealDash! You are in for a very exciting experience. DealDash is a fun and exciting website where you just might take home a big win. It’s not a good idea to just start bidding without reading up on how to use the site, though. Read this article for some DealDash information that you need to know.

Making an Account

The first thing that you need to do is open a DealDash bidding account. If you don’t have an account you can still look around, but you won’t be able to try out the site. It’s simple to open up an account, it just takes a minute. All you need to sign up is your name, email, and a user name chosen by you. Think about it carefully, because you can’t change it afterward.

Buying Bids

When you have completed your sign up, you need to buy your first bid pack. Your first bid pack of 60 bids is $36. You can use these bids to see if you enjoy DealDash. However, if for some reason you don’t like bidding on DealDash this amount will be fully refunded to you if you contact customer service. There is a 100% satisfaction guarantee, and if you decide that DealDash isn’t for you then just contact customer service under the “Help” section on the main DealDash page and they will assist you in canceling your account and having the cost of your first bid pack refunded to you.

After you have purchased your first bid pack, then you are eligible for bid discounts! There is a different discount listed every day, which you can see on the main DealDash page. Bid packs come in many different amounts of bids. You can get a pack of 60, 300, 600, 1200, or 2400. Bids cost between .13-.60 per bid. The most common price for bids is around $.15-.17. Sometimes they dip down to the .12-.14 range, typically on holiday weekends. Just keep your eyes peeled, and check the main DealDash page often.

Bidding Explained to Newbies

There are two main ways that you can bid on DealDash – single bids or by using the BidBuddy. Placing a single bid is extremely simple. You can place single bids on the front page, or by opening up an individual auction and clicking the “bid” button.

Using the BidBuddy is a much better option for most situations. The BidBuddy is on all auctions and is available to all bidders to use. Your BidBuddy will alternate bidding with the other BidBuddies that are set until there are no more bids placed from BidBuddies or other bidders, and whoever has the last bid in before the clock runs out is the winner. To use the BidBuddy simply open up an individual item’s auction page, and put in as many or as few bids as you like. You can cancel it or add more bids at any time.

The Five Perks That Keep Me Bidding Happy on DealDash

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of DealDash. There are five major reasons I love DealDash and I call these reasons “the DealDash perks.”

Perk #1: There’s Nothing Better Than Free Bids

There are two common everyday ways to earn free bids on DealDash. The first way is as simple as signing into DealDash once a day to earn up to 30 free bids each day. All you have to do is place one singular bid on any auction and the free bids are automatically added to your account.

The second way to earn free bids on DealDash is through the “Time as highest bidder” ticker at the bottom of the page.  You earn up to 10 second for each bid placed as the counter counts your 10 seconds down. As you complete levels, you earn more and more free bids for each level. I’m currently at Level 41 and my next goal level, I will receive 630 free bids! It’s even better when you can earn up to two or three times the normal amounts on the ticker during special promotions! Every bid counts and there’s nothing better than free bids!

Perk #2: Free Shipping Every Day

I don’t know about you but I rarely buy anything online unless free shipping is one of the perks of purchasing. At DealDash, you get free shipping every day! You don’t even have to think about it!  Even during special promotions like free and half-price wins, it’s always, always, always free shipping at DealDash!

Perk #3: The Never Waste Bids Buy It Now Option

For one of my first auctions I was in the market for a small space heater and put about 300 bids in before calling it quits. Since I was already looking to purchase the same product, I just went ahead and purchased it through DealDash and got all 300 bids back in my account for using the Buy It Now feature. It’s a great way to shop and to know that you’re never really wasting a bid when you use this option.

Perk #4: Unique Gift Ideas You Can’t Find Anywhere Else

I’ve used DealDash on so many occasions—from birthdays to baby showers to Christmas—to stock my closet with gifts. The items available at DealDash range from practical to unique in every way. If you’re looking for a “wow” gift item, you can’t go wrong with DealDash!  It’s my go-to place for gifts you just can’t find anywhere else.

Perk #5: Accessible Top-Notch Customer Service

There is no comparison to the accessible and courteous care bidders receive through DealDash Customer Support. Finding answers or sharing concerns and ideas is a simple email or chat session away. DealDash seems to operate from a customer satisfaction philosophy and really listens to their customers and provides some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced.

I hope by sharing these perks, you’ll come to see just why I think DealDash is so awesome. Happy bidding!
