DealDash Heroes: Nurses

Welcome to the newest DealDash series, DealDash Heroes! Today we are going to be talking a little bit about nurses.

Everyone has been in contact with a nurse at some time or another, and while they aren’t typically categorized as a “hero”, I believe that they are. These men and women are the calm and compassionate forces that help us feel better when we’re sick or hurt. Here is a little bit more information about nurses, and their importance in our lives.

History of Nursing

There have, of course, been nurses practically since the beginning of time. There are records all the way back from the year 300 A.D, with people assisting doctors in surgery and patient care. However, nurses really came into their own in 1860, when Florence Nightingale opened the first nursing school. Florence Nightingale was known as one of the most popular and beloved nurses in history.

Nursing became an extremely popular profession during WW2. Many, many thousands of women volunteered to go overseas and become nurses to our injured soldiers. This is when nurses really began to be called heroes.

What Types of Nurses are There?

There are dozens and dozens of different types of nurses. Some you have probably heard of, such as school nurses and operating room nurses. There are probably many other types of nurses that you didn’t even know existed such as nurse anesthetists and forensic nurses. There are different levels of education and degrees that a nurse can achieve such as LPN, RN, BSN, and MSN.

Things That Nurses Do

Nurses do hundreds of things daily, such as take information from patients, check vital signs, administer medications, and give comfort to patients. Nurses can do almost all of the things that doctors can do (barring surgery!), and in fact, my own children typically see a nurse practitioner instead of a doctor when they have a regular appointment.

My personal favorite type of nurse that I have come in contact with is labor and delivery nurses. Each time that I have been in the hospital to have my babies it’s been the nurses who have kept me company, gotten me ice chips and blankets, and helped me during birth, and even after birth. The doctor might have been the one who delivered my babies, but the nurses were the people that I shared my fears and joys with. For all of you current, future, and retired nurses out there – thank you for all that you do!

DealDash is a one-in-a-million sort of website. There are other pay-to-bid sites, of course, but DealDash has been around the longest. Having the ability to BIN an auction instead of losing all of the bids was a huge step forward in the “pay to bid” auction world. Since DealDash has implemented the BIN option a few other sites have tried to copy the idea, however, they typically don’t give you all of your bids back. They give a portion back, but they charge for shipping, so it’s actually kind of a wash. DealDash is clearly superior with their BIN option and free shipping on every item on the site.

DealDash Gives Free Bids Out!

Finally, DealDash is unique because they like to give gifts – free bids. Did you know that you can get free bids for simply visiting DealDash? I know that sounds a little crazy, but it’s true! DealDash will give you between 4-30 bids, every single day, just for visiting and placing at least one bid.

You can also receive free bids for being the highest bidder in a DealDash auction. When you bid, your time clock meter starts filling up with green when you are the highest bidder. Customer service isn’t just for problems and questions. They are also there to take your ideas and suggestions as well. Do you have an idea for a product that you haven’t seen offered yet on DealDash? Or maybe you think that there needs to be more of a certain category and less of another category? Are You Unsure How to Get in Touch?

It’s easy to contact DealDash customer service. If you need instant help or you just don’t feel like waiting a few hours for a reply, then you can click the “Live Support Online” button.

Personally, I prefer the “submit a request for assistance form”, however, I have never had a problem that I needed immediate assistance. Many people are a fan of the live chat feature, and once you click the “Live Support Online”, you will be connected with a friendly DealDash customer service rep almost immediately. Once you’re connected, then you can work on solving your problem.

Use DealDash to Be a Do-Gooder

Winning for yourself is fun, but why not do some good? Use DealDash to help yourself be a do-gooder.

DealDash is here to auction off amazing items, but once you have everything that you need why not give back to your community? DealDash can help you get some items that would be much appreciated by the less fortunate members in your community. All of us who use “entertainment shopping” such as DealDash are fortunate that we have enough money in our budget to have fun and shop. Some people don’t have any extra room in their budget after they have the basics. Why not be a “do-gooder” and win some things to donate?

Identify Who Needs Your Help

There are many different types of people and organizations in your community who would benefit from a donation. Before you start bidding, you should make a list of the type of items that you are hoping to win and donate. For example, if you live in a very hot climate such as Texas or Florida and want to win clothing to give to the less fortunate, then you should probably stay away from the heavy jackets and sweaters.

Some examples of people and organizations who could benefit from donations are:

Churches are often one of the first places that a family turns when they are in trouble. They will be very happy to match you up with a family and you can know that your donation is making a very big difference in the life of a family in your own community.

Oops I Did it Again…On DealDash!

A mistake that I see people often make on DealDash is entering an auction when it has almost reached the $5 No Jumper Limit. Now, this is completely allowed, of course, but I still think that this is a strategic mistake. Why? Because if they auction is down to just 2 or 3 people and it has almost reached the $5 No Jumper Limit then those few people feel kind of an “ownership” over this particular auction and probably won’t let it go without a fight.

I have seen many people say that they will overbid past the BIN (Buy It Now) because they know that the person who just joined the auction will most likely bid for a while. Bidding past the BIN price is risky, but some people just can’t resist trying to rack up more “clock time” with the TATHB (Time As The Highest Bidder) perk.

Not Letting Your Buddy Help

Do you use the BidBuddy in each and every auction? You should! The BidBuddy is there to help you win against your competition, why wouldn’t you use him? By using the BidBuddy, you have the best chance at winning the auction.

The BidBuddy is just as easy (if not easier) to use than single bidding. Simply fill him up with as many bids that you would like to spend on an auction and let him work his magic. Don’t make the mistake of not using the BidBuddy – he’s free and available to use on every auction.

Don’t Throw Away Your Bids! Use BIN!

While there is always a winner in each and every DealDash auction, it won’t always be you. If you try to only bid on things that you would normally buy at the store such as clothing, then you can BIN them if you don’t win. BINning an auction just takes a click of the button.
