Observations, My Handy Tips at Deal Dash

After a couple of years shopping and bidding at Deal Dash, I have learned a few things through simple observation.  Here are a few of my handy tips which have helped me win many auctions.  These are good tips to play and win by!

  1. Use the “Who’s at their limit” tab. It costs one bid, but it is a great way to see who is out of the competition.  Over time, you will not want to play at all without this information.
  2. When two of the same items are on the market at the same time, one will go for much less than the other and it’s usually the second one to come up that sells first.
  3. Binning is so much better than over bidding.  I have watched people grossly overbid “just to win” they are senseless and foolish to play this way.  It took me a while to learn how to walk away, but it’s a great strategy.
  4. The same players, play the same way over and over.  So if you’ve noticed that one guy is always in the beginning of an auction, he is!  That’s his strategy.  In time, you will know just when he will back out.
  5. Then there are the jumpers, refer to #1.  You really need to see if a jumper is out of the field if you are “going to go for it”.  Some jumpers jump late and leave early and others never leave, let them have it, they’ll reach their limit and be gone!
  6. It’s not worth getting into a battle with a poor sport.  They won’t lose, and they’ll spend all your bids.
  7. Planning a win is better than a bunch of random bids for items you don’t need. Stay true to the items you actually want, especially if you are new to the site, get a feel for how the game is played before you “go for it!”
  8. The best way to win is to use your Bid Buddy, use your Bid Buddy , use your Bid Buddy!  You will earn free bids for the time you are high bidder and you will only place bids when it’s “your turn”. Random bidding costs money.
  9. New items go for less the first few auctions, then much higher for a while.  Then they level out again.  Keep your eye on your favorite item, when the stats start to decline, it’s time to get involved.
  10. Buy bids when they are on sale!!!! Deal Dash often has these outrageous sales and you can get bids for as low as .12 cents at time.  When the price hit .12, it’s time to invest in that one special item.

These are a few of my tips for winning, I’ve tried the alternative and have found these few observations to be pretty consistent and I play and win by them.

Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!

Knowing When to Say “I Need to BIN.”

Sadly, we can’t all win every auction all the time. If we did, DealDash wouldn’t be able to stay viable for very long! Here is a simple guide to know when it’s time to say “I need to BIN.”

Unless you are just throwing a few bids on auctions here and there not really expecting to win, just hoping to get lucky, you most likely are bidding in an auction to win. No matter who you are, though, there will always be a person who either has more bids to use than you do, or are not as careful with their bids as you, or just someone who is just flat-out more stubborn than you are.

No matter who you are and how many bids you have available to use, realistically,  no one can win all of the auctions that they participate in on DealDash, or any other auction site. Luckily, DealDash has an amazing feature available to all of us called BIN, also known as “Buying It Now.”

Deal Dash wants all of their bidders to be happy and feel good about bidding, so they created BIN. With BIN, if you have bid too much and are not going to win you can purchase the item at the retail price that is listed on each and every auction page, and have all of the bids that you spent on the auction returned to your account.

Knowing when to BIN instead of continuing to bid is an important skill to cultivate – there are few things more frustrating than doing the math after the auction is over and realizing that you spent far too many bids and should have used DealDash’s BIN feature instead.

When you know your limits and stick to them, playing and shopping at DealDash is always an awesome experience that will help you win great deals or be able to buy items at a fair price and have them shipped to you for free. Good Luck and Happy Bidding, everyone!

DealDash Bidding Styles Examined

What bidding style are you using these days? There are so many different ways to bid, try them all, see what you like.

The first way that we will look at is what I like to call “educated bidding.” Educated bidding is the style of bidding that can win you quite a few auctions. In this style of bidding you do all of your research beforehand. You pick an auction, you do your research, and then you use your bids sparingly until you have conquered the auction.

Another way to bid is “scattered bidding”. In this style of bidding you bid on anything and everything that catches your eye. A few bids here, a few bids there, maybe you will get lucky with this style.

The final way we will look at is the best way, in my opinion. Let’s check out the BidBuddy way!

  1. Do the math to figure out how many bids that you need to put in your BidBuddy to get to the BIN (Buy It Now) price.
  2. Buy enough bids to reach the BIN price of the auction you are thinking of winning.
  3. Place the bids that you would like to bid on in the auction in your BidBuddy.
  4. Hit the “Book a BidBuddy button.
  5. Wait for the auction to end.
  6. Claim your win!

The BidBuddy gives you an edge over anyone who bids without BidBuddy. In the examples of the other bidding styles above, it’s very unlikely that you would win if you are up against anyone using a BidBuddy. BidBuddy is really the only way that you are going to be able to bid on more than one auction at once and be able to win.

The best part about the BidBuddy is that you don’t even have to choose between bidding styles – you can do either the educated bidding OR the scattered bidding and still use your BidBuddy, because there is no minimum or maximum amount of bids that must be used with your BidBuddy. If you wanted to place 1,000 bids with the BidBuddy you could do it, as long as you have the bids available to use in your account. On the other hand, if you wanted to place 5 bids on every single open auction, you could do that as well. BidBuddy is versatile!

I hope this helped some of you think about different ways to bid, and get the most out of your BidBuddy. If you’re interested in reading even more tips and tricks check out the “Tactics & Tips” section on DealDash. Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

The Official and Unofficial Rules of DealDash

There are two categories of rules on DealDash – Official and Unofficial. Let’s take a look at both to make sure that everyone understands them.

As for the 100% official “created by DealDash administrators” rules, they are both easy to find and easy to follow. They call them the “House Rules”, and they are very clear and easy to understand so that everyone is on fair grounds and equal footing. You can find these official rules at this link located right here. There are not many official rules, however you should most definitely familiarize yourself with the official rules so you don’t put your bidding account in purgatory until DealDash has had a chance to look into the situation.

These rules are very easy to follow and shouldn’t make your bidding or winning any more difficult at all. The House Rules are put in place to make things as fair and honest for everyone. Here’s a quick overview of the rules– but please check out the full version so you don’t accidentally get yourself into trouble.

  • Each person can only have 1 account, no exceptions.
  • You can win the same item only once per week.
  • You absolutely may not bid in the same auction with your family members, friends, or acquaintances.
  • You may not use any type of bidding software to automatically bid for you except the BidBuddy which is provided to everyone free of charge.
  • Your user name cannot be vulgar or obscene, and it also can’t mislead people into thinking that you are a DealDash employee, either.
  • DealDash employees and immediate family are not allowed to bid on auctions.

Those are the main points and summaries of the official House Rules. If you need any clarification on any of them check out the full version , and if you are still unclear about anything please feel free to send in a support ticket to DealDash. DealDash customer service reps are extremely friendly and willing to help you with anything that you have a question regarding, be it the rules or how something on the site works.

Unofficially there are a few rules as well, the biggest one being:

Don’t jump on other people’s bids.

This means that you should not bid immediately after someone else has bid. It’s the best practice to wait until the clock has 1, 2, or 3 seconds left before you put your bid into the auction. The reason that this is important is that every bidder who has put in a bid and spends time as the highest bidder earns seconds on their “bid clock.” When each person’s bid clock has been filled up they will receive free bids from DealDash. As I said, this is a completely unofficial rule, and no DealDash employee will enforce this rule. However, this is a very common “rule” among the bidders, and you will usually be quickly corrected by other bidders by having your bids “jumped on” therefore losing out on your clock time as well.

I hope that this article has helped you become more aware of the rules around DealDash. Remember to pay attention to the rules, check out the auctions and see what you would really like to bid on, see you on DealDash everyone! Good luck and happy bidding!
