It hasn’t even been a month since we watched the ball drop on New Year’s Eve, and 2024 has already been a wild year for weather. Across the USA and Canada, new temperature records are being set daily as abnormally cold winter weather has arrived.

Extreme winter weather affects each of us differently. Kids, for example, typically love winter weather, especially if it results in school cancellations and a few snow days. In many parts of the USA, the current chilly weather and heavy snows have significantly disrupted daily life, resulting in numerous school closures and travel delays. This may sound like fun, but in some places it is too cold to even be outside!

Adults usually have more mixed feelings about disruptive winter weather than children do. Sometimes, we want nothing more than to go through a normal day’s routine. When unexpected and uncontrollable events like winter weather get in the way of our routines, it can be stressful. On a typical day, a person might go to work, swing by the gym, and then go pick up some takeaway food from their favorite restaurant. But for many, that is not possible now. Instead, they are stuck at home trying to keep boredom at bay.

DealDash’s Blizzard Bargains promotion begins this Monday, January 29th, and lasts until the following Monday, February 5th. This week-long promotion offers everything you need to stay occupied and away from harsh winter weather.

Bids are on sale

For starters, bidpacks are on sale during Blizzard bargains. Be sure to check in each day during the promotion. On several days, we’ll offer bids for as low as 12 cents each!

Earn free bids quicker than ever

We aren’t just selling bids during Blizzard Bargains, we are giving them away, too. On select days of this promotion there’s an increased Time As Highest Bidder (TAHB) multiplier available for every DealDash bidder. To recap, TAHB is another way that DealDash gives you free bids for simply bidding. When you are the highest bidder in an auction, your TAHB meter fills up. When it is full, you can claim your reward of free bids. The higher the bidding level you complete, the bigger the reward of free bids! And keep your eye out for Milestone Levels where the rewards are huge!

Bid in special types of DealDash auctions

During Blizzard Bargains, we’re offering all sorts of exciting auctions. Be sure to look for different badges on the auction page to show you what type of auction you are bidding.

We’ll have Runner-Up auctions, which return rewards to the second place finisher.

You can also practice some bidding strategy by participating in SpyBuddy Auctions. These auctions let you reveal what your competition was up to. Every 60 minutes you can reveal all booked bids for one minute. Any bid count of over 500 is displayed as 500+. The list of booked bids does not update after the reveal. Instead, you must wait at least 60 minutes to reveal again.

And last but not least, the No Jumper Limit will be lowered in select auctions. A lower No Jumper Limit can mean less competition, as the auction is restricted to new bidders sooner than it normally is.

Bid on items to help you through bad winter weather

All throughout the week during Blizzard Bargains, we will be running auctions for low-stock items. This means that it’s your last chance for some of these items as we are clearing out the remaining stock. And to help you through winter, some of these low-stock items are winter puffer jackets and fleece jackets. Keep checking back each day to see what new auctions are beginning.
